Underwhelmed January 7, 2009 Despite the very good reviews here I have been disappointed with this players performance.
The upscaling is barely noticeable from standard resolutions. So much so even when I switch between my old player and this no one I've shown this to can tell the difference. This is at 1080p.
Even swapping between the various resolutions you really can't see any difference.
Beyond that the menus are very basic as is the remote. People say you get what you pay for, if thats the case this should be about 25.
DON'T THROW AWAY YOUR OLD DISCS! January 1, 2009 Amazing! Just amazing. This multi-region HDMI DVD player does everything it says on the tin. Somehow this wonderful machine manages to draw every last bit of information out of standard definition discs and produces a picture of astounding quality. It's not quite true HD or blue ray quality but the difference is so slight that only a true audio or videophile would be able to immediately see the difference. As long as they continue to make players like this I'll continue to buy the old standard definition discs until they stop making them.
Great all rounder December 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great product - simple to set up and use.
Plays the usual plus DivX and can be made region-free - see KN for the code below - thanks for that KN.

I had this dvd player for 3 weeks and I must say that I happy with the quality of picture. Its easy to set up and is definitely multi-region. Followed the instructions left by one of the previous reviewer and it worked straight away. Colours are rich and clear using hdmi connection. I am thinking of buying another one in the near future. Highly recommended.
Multi Region DVD Player with HDMI November 19, 2008 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I read the various reviews on Amazon before deciding to purchase this product. It arrived to day and I am amazed at the picture quality I am a video producer by profession and am delighted. One thing though, the Amazon description states region 2 player - it is infact multi region. Well done Phillips and well done Amazon for another great deal and service as usual.
