This radio looks smart and is fairly easy to setup. I use the radio to wake me in the mornings, but am often woken with loud static. The radio looses its station settings for no reason. The radio stations then have to be reset. It is not an electrical connection fault as the clock settings are ok. It has now happened once too often and this morning I dumped it in the bin! I can't be bothered to package it up and send it back.
This may be just a rogue one, but beware.

Returned this product as i found the time display to be hard to read making it pointless, its too pixely and cannot be read in the light or very well in the dark.

The alarm is quite nice to look at, it's quite compact and is very easy to set up radio stations and alarms (2).
There are only 5 pre-sets for radio stations and although there are two alarms, as far as I can tell you can only have one radio alarm and one buzzer alarm.
There is a large button at the top of the alarm that has a double function: sleep button for alarm and dimmer switch for the backlight.
All in it's a nice little alarm. I would however, echo the previous comments that in the age of space tourism, cloning and quantum engineering that I'd expect a little bit more from an alarm. Especially when you can buy a freeview box/multi region dvd player for the same price.

The first thing I noticed when I unpacked it was how small and compact it was. However, despite its size the sound is good.
There are 2 things I look for in a clock radio
1)a loud piercing alarm
2)a clear time display
The radio is a bonus as I do not listen to it much. I may hear the news and one or two songs but then I get up.
Being a deep sleeper the alarm is irritating and piercing which is exactly what I need.
I have read many reviews of clock radios and one recurring complaint with some models is that the time display is either too bright or too dim. The LCD clock has 3 settings: bright, dim and off. The dim setting is too bright for me so I switch the display off, if I need to see the time the illuminating switch is the top bar and is easy to reach.
This is a compact well designed clock radio.

The sound is okay (and, while it is indeed okay, read this in terms of radio alarm clocks). The 'gentle wake' system sounds good but the reality is limited. I'd imagined waking to the gradually increasing volume of the radio but instead, it only works on the alarm, which is something of an old-school alarm clock buzzer getting slightly more frenetic. The radio presets are on the side, which is not ideal, though it depends how much you change them. You can alter the display and dim or turn off the backlight (reviewers of certain other clock radios seem to be having tape over over-bright displays). While turning the display off is useful, it's a shame there aren't more steps in the brightness cycle, so you could adjust to your own sense of how much light you'd like while sleeping. So, overall, sound isn't bad, you can see the display without it seeming like daylight. It's a neat, compact unit and seems not bad for the price. However, these surely must only be entry level criteria for a radio alarm clock, it seems like some serious evolution is required in the field.
