Works on MacBook Pro November 22, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've been having some issues with writing out Dual Layer DVD's on my Macbook Pro just recently, getting the dreaded 'couldn't calibrate laser...'
So, after reading a few of these reviews I decided to go for it and it appars to have done it's job!
A worthy purchase for DVD reading/writing issues!

Our DVD recorder did not recognise any discs most of the time and needed some convincing to recognise this one at first. But when it did, it was cured after one cleaning treatment and has accepted every disc since. Very good product price, simple and effective.
It works!! November 15, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Brand new TDK DVDs that I had burned on my iMac would not read or show up on the desktop. As the computer is now four years old I feared I may have to buy a new optical drive. I thought I would try this product first and... it actually worked after only one session which takes all of a minute to complete! Now the drive whirrs properly and the disks show up and read fine. I'm extremely pleased, especially as the price is so cheap. If you are having similar problems with your Mac I would definitely consider trying this before any more expensive option.
macbook pro superdrive won't work? Error message? November 3, 2008 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
My macbook pro would show media error when it came to burning a disc with idvd itunes or toast. Had to force quit. thought the laser was gone. But I bought one of these and slippeD it in and ran it twice according to instructions. BINGO! Now my superdrive works again like new! SORTED.Great price too. Phew!
A MUST for all households October 16, 2008 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
This is a high quality Philips product. The other review that says this is a CD with brushes on is misguided. This is how you clean the optical lenses on drives. I am a systems administrator and although this may be a CD with brushes on, they are designed to remove dust and other contaminants without scratching the lens.
3.10 is an amazing price for this item. I just bought it as the DVD writer in my macbook pro was not writing correctly and causing my mastered DVD's to fail. This product has stopped the errors and saved me having to take my laptop to be repaired.
I wouldnt trust an inferior lens cleaner on my drive as a new drive can cost up to 100 and a lower grade product could seriously harm the lenses inside.
BUY IT you wont be sorry!
